Hi Friends, I went to DMV PA (Bridgevile) to renew my drivers license recently. They are not accepting original EAD/ AP, copy of 485 receipt plus employer letter. They are asking for original 485 receipt. Unfortunately my ex-employer did not give the original receipt.
Did any body renew the PA DL without original 485 receipt?

Urgent- Please help I-485 issue
I filed for I-485 for my son on 2nd July but did not receive the receipt so far. My son is turning 21 next month, my lawyer is guiding me to file for F-1 for my son to be on the safe side. Is filing for F-1 going to effect the I-485. What will happen if approved F-1 comes before receipt?
Anyone can help me with this issue?

Great find, Andy. Based on your explanation, I can say that our real problem is not the lack of visa numbers. There are enough visa numbers, but USCIS is not utilizing them.
This also tells me that an increase in visa numbers to 290,000 (or what ever number that the SKILL bill is asking for) would NOT change the situation a little bit. The end result only will be that the USCIS will end up with more number of unused visas.
Can the IV community do some thing to improve the whole situation?

You applied for your Labor and waited(establish a PD), everybody who applied after you was behind you.
After the Labor was approved, you applied for the I-140. This will determine your category/country of chargeability and will filter some of the fraud cases
After the I-140 was granted. You apply for either CP or AOS. At this point CIS/DOS knew how many applications were pending for each category/country and could move the dates smoothly.
Now the mess is so big that it takes them until February(6 months after the End of the previous Fiscal Year) to publish the number of visas issued

You make it sound like they care about you and are doing this slowly to get everybody on board, sorry to burst the bubble but chances are they were able to apply the right pressure at the right places and get this passed.
Fashion models and Sport personnel and EB-5 folks are few in numbers and will go unnoticed by their constituents. Other EB categories are comparatively huge. So I suppose that congress is treading carefully. If the bills does not go though the subcommittee and full ones, opponents will debate that the bill was sneaked in or piggy backed or pushed through. Hopefully something will emerge before the presidential elections. Lets not loose hope and try our best. Anything after the elections will be bound to be bogged down by CIR...

I recommend all members to use every channel you get to fix issues like these.
We are entitled for a fair process and we must make sure every application is treated in a fair manner.
