I am sure you'll get GC by the end on this year or early next year. I might have called USCIS abt 15-20 times and from what I understand dates would retrogress for eb3 India, but not horribly. My guess in of the total applications in August 30% have older PD 02/03/04. Becuause pf PERM processing majority are 05/06/07.

I think these guys are just playing with our minds. They know how many applications are pending. At least they have a estimate and idea.
Now they will sit on these pending applications until the end of year and then suddenly move dates 2-3 years ahead and approve some GCs. Few will be happy and most of us will be disappointed.

Hi Vayumahesh,
My attorney told me that it takes around a month to get ported (may be he is just saying in general). As I mentioned earlier My I-140 (EB2 one) shows EB3 priority date. I hope something will happen in a month or two.

Looks like it only tracks people who donated for FOIA
Not true. Anybody donates will get Donor status. This is started for last few days, so people who donated in last few days get this. Pappu mentioned that he is planning to cross reference this with old donations but not sure whats happening there.

Sens. Schumer and Hutchison have offered the Bridge amendment. The amendment has been withdrawn but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is permanently withdrawn. According to www.shusterman.com It has a chanse to pass in September, just after the summer recess.
I believe all our efforts should be concentraited on this legislation!
Core Team, we badly need your advise, how can we help, what should we do in order to lobby this ammendment? It might be difficult because the majority of Schedule A professionals are still outside the US..... There in US we have only our lawers, who seems to me are not willing or can help us.

I posted this on another thread.. Recapturing lost visa numbers from yester years has to be top priority..
lets fight to recapture Visa numbers from the previous years.. As this article rightly points us, the road ahead:

USCIS estimates that 10,000 green cards of the 140,000 allotted for employment-based applicants were not issued last year. Immigration Voice estimates that 200,000 in total have gone unused in the last decade. Immigrant advocates have been urging the federal government to offer make these green-card slots available to help relieve the backlog of those waiting for green cards, an estimated 500,000.
Using green cards from previous years would require legislation from Congress. Lofgren says there have been "some discussions going on informally" about whether such a move is possible. But it's no sure thing. It would be difficult to pass such legislation in a Congress that is leery of any immigration issue after a comprehensive reform effort with the support of President George W. Dont worry about 1200$ cheque. It is also a big amount.
We pay money for lot of things like GC , H1B visa , more than 75% pay money for getting sponsorship and to run the payroll.
We are not only screwed by the US government, but by our Desi Employers, inbetween rats who are the middleman.
Look for GC and try to work on 1099 which is the best deal.
We need to expedite our views for Jobs and GC. We are fighting for 1200$ of cheque's when there'nt more jobs to keep our status legal and our GC is costing us more like the Medical Insurance.
Getup and think what are our priorities.

and why, pray, does your esteemed school keep accepting students from these so called "sub-standard" colleges in india? i would say 5-7 years of observed emperical evidence calls for some substantial action on your and your school's part in black-listing these institutions........so, either:
1. you are blowing smoke through eveyone's a** here or
2. the school is greedy for tuition fees - proving an earlier contention made in this thread about it being all about money....
P.S - i am not from one of these schools so no personal stake!
