Hello Friends,
I currently reside in Nebraska. I'm in pending I-485, and its I-797C�s Received Date was in Aug, 20007, Receipt Number: LIN-xx-xxx-xxxxx. My EAD expires on this December 2010, and my AP has expired on December 2008. I re-entered US on Feb, 2010 using H1B Visa and its HIB has expired on May 2010. I�d like renew my EAD and AP. I�ve got all paper ready to file, but I�m confused about Where Service Center/Office I should file to and pay the fees to. I�d appreciate your help.

I recall that USCIS was planning to issue 2 year AP and 2 year EAD. I see that the 2 year EAD has been implemented. ANy idea, if and when the 2 year AP implementation is expected?

People,
I filed my I-140 at NSC, but when I check case status online it says my I-140 was transfered to another Service center. It does not say which Service center though. My lawyer says he got all his mails form CSC, which means my I-140 is pending at CSC. Also my case number starts with WAC-XXX-XXXX, which also suggests that my case is pending at CSC. However, I am not convinced if this is correct because CSC does not publish processing times for I-140. Also, recently when I filed AR-11 for an address change I got an email from USCIS with the address of TSC on it. I would like to know if anyone is in the same boat and knows which service center there case is. I will appreciate your feedback.

As most of you know we formed a focus group to work on the 'Country Cap issue'.
We have a letter ready to be sent out the the lawmakers to lift the Cap - may be temporarily- I would request you guys to spend 5 minutes and 42 cents and send it out to your senators and congressmen/Congresswomen�.If 50 people from California can send this letter to 'Congresswoman Zoe Logfren', I'm sure it will some some difference...

Hi friends,
My EAD was about to expire in 4 months. I'm going to apply for the renewal. Can I keep working if the application is pending?
You can work as long as the EAD is valid. If you meant to ask if you can legally work while your old EAD has expired and your new EAD is pending, the answer is NO.
One more thing, the USCIS is required by law to make decision on your EAD application withing 90 days upon receiving your application. But someone didn't get that within 90 days. That casused problem bacause you can only apply for renewal of your EAD if it is 90 days or less before your old EAD will expire.

George W. Bush has been the most accommodating of presidents. He has rarely used his veto pen to kill legislation. Until now.
Last week, Bush vetoed a bill that would have expanded federally funded embryonic stem-cell research. He said scientific advances allow researchers to pursue lifesaving work without destroying human embryos. It was his third veto ever.
But there will soon be more. Lots more, and almost every one of them will have an impact on the markets and business growth.
Bush has attacked the opposition party for "excessive spending" and has vowed to veto many of Congress's 12 appropriations bills, which are on track to exceed his wishes by $23 billion in the next fiscal year.
In response, some Democrats have said they can play that game, too. A faction thinks the last thing they should do is let pass almost any legislative initiative Bush and his party can claim credit for, including the immigration and energy bills Congress is working on.
These confrontations are shortsighted no matter who's to blame. A budget impasse would depress markets and weaken the dollar. Failure of the immigration bill would threaten businesses that hire illegal immigrants with increased sanctions or compel them to hire fewer people, either of which would lead to higher prices. And energy shortages could easily become chronic unless more is done to reduce our reliance on high-price oil.
Shallow political finger-pointing is not an adequate response.

While filling my biographical information form (I-325a) I forgot to add one of my residential address which was in a different city where I stayed only for 2 months. I was wondering will that be a major issue?
I remember this is the address I gave when I got a job and they did a background check on me. If there are any repercussions how do I rectify the solution, can some one please respond?

I am applying to renew my EAD and looking at the paper Application on page 7 I see that if you are C9 which all of us are mostly..we need not file an application fee..
Is it true..

How come a govt. organization that is never known to do things on time, all of sudden is able to approve 60000 GCs in such a short period ? Why did they have to do it by end of June ? If they had done that by end of July would anything have been different for the folks who were getting the Green Cards - NO.
I think this was all planned. There was a reason why the numbers were made current and there is a reason why the numbers became unavailable.
I think we should get to the bottom of this. This stinks ......

USCIS used to have a lot of difficulty raising fees and would only get increases approved every few years. They now raise their fees frequently and have just announced their intentions to do so again. In the past, they blamed poor service on the lack of resources and promised - many times - that more money would translate in to better results. I once supported this view. But no longer. USCIS has received massive resource increases over the last several years and expanded the number of examiners greatly. Yet if you talk to seasoned immigration lawyers, there is more of...
